AJAYGARH FORT

Ajaygarh Fort is a famous fort which is built 688 meters of height. This fort is located only 20 miles from Kalinjar. On high leveled spur of Vindhya hills and within River Ken, it has set up. It has got similar height lke Kalinjar. There are two gates in this fort wherein first is in north side and very simple gates called Darwaza and second gate is in south-east side of fort, called Tarhaoni Darwaza. This second gate follows on Tarhowan village straight. In middle of Ajaygarh Fort, it has a big tank called Ajay-Pal-ka-Talao which has emerged from a rock by a cut. Overall, this fort is a worth visiting tourists' spot.


KALINJAR FORT

Kalinjar is in District Banda of state UP which is called a city of temples and also Khajuraho's world famous heritage location. The Kalinjar fort is brilliantly established Vindhya Range edge on a distinct rocky hill. It is related to many ancient temples. It is said that Kalinjar is made of the best hill fortresses' specimen or can refer as Indian hill-shrines. The natural magnificence of Kalinjar fort's atmosphere turns it as a great spot for meditation or penance. It is quite surprising to see that over the hill a unique mystique has spread.


DHUBELA MUSEUM

On Khajuraho-Jhansi highway there is a fort and in that fort, there is Dhubela Museum. This Dhubela Museum displays several artifacts related to ancient time to modern time. If you visit the museum, you will get insight of core history of up and down for Khauraho's famous Bundelas. The historical mystery and architectural glamour of the lifestyle of Bundela kings and generation of that time get revealed to spectators with several existing artifacts and sculptures. These sculptures are related to cult 'Shakti'. The artifacts are unique collection of various museum articles including paintings, weapons and garments of kings of Bundela.


KEN GHARIAL SANCTUARY

Ken Gharial Sanctuary is one of the most famous Indian sanctuaries which specifically provides housing to gharials (alligator) and encourage their breeding programs. Basically, Gharials are other form of crocodiles. Ken Gharial Sanctuary is established on two famous rivers named Khudar and Ken. Thus, it gives such a serene and rendezvous surrounding to visitors. Due to amazing presence of number of Gharials and beautiful surrounding, Ken Gharial Sanctuary is popularly getting famous among animal enthusiasts. Here in Ken Gharial Sanctuary, visitors can find several other animal species too in addition to Gharials which include Cheetal, Chinkara, Nilgai, Peacock and Wild Boar.


PANDAVA WATERFALLS

On the famous river Ken which is 30 kms away from Khajuraho, there is Pandava waterfalls. The ideal time to visit this breathtaking waterfall is post monsoon rains and that time, visitors can have a joyful time there. The water comes on gorged steps of hillside from cascade of top hill to a pool build below. Truly this is a perfect spot for picnic or chilling out. Apart from this beautiful natural scenery of Pandava waterfalls, there is beautiful ranch which is 25 km away from the pandava waterfalls. It is said that while 13 years of exile of Pandavas, they lived here secretly and the name Pandava waterfalls has originated from this fact only.


RANEH FALLS

Raneh falls is another amazing spot where number of nature lovers goes for having a peaceful time. Basically, Raneh Falls is completely a canyon which is carved through several Ken River's crystalline granite. Evidently, a volcano exists in Raneh falls which has come into light by some local guides. A available crater is the evidence for the same, however it is now filled with lots of water though. While sunset, the falls look amazing and generally, great crowds gather there in the evening. Some seasonal waterfalls are lined up there as series and these are encompassed by dense jungles and a great picnic place.


BENISAGAR & RANGUAN LAKES

The Benisagar and Ranguan Lakes is famous lakes and tourists' spot of Madhya Pradesh. Both lakes provide a calm and time full of peace to visitors, that is why number of tourists come to these lakes for picnic or small tours. The Benisagar Lake offers opportunities for angling and boating to visitors while other Ranguan Lake is located in Madhya Pradesh's Chhatarpur district and also a great picnic place where several people come to have a great time. The famous Rangwan Dam is also very close to this lake and Ranguan Lake also provide facilities for angling or boating.


MAHAMATI PRANNATHJI TEMPLE

This is the most important temple of pranamies which reflects their social and religious life.The temple is completed in 1692 AD. It is believed that Prannathji livied here and will remain here and thus became the highest Pranami tirtha as Mahamati's Punyasthali, and hence Panna is the param dham for Pranamies. On Sharada Purnima every year, thousands of people gather here to celebrate the Mahotsava


PADMAVATI DEVI TEMPLE

Padmavati Devi or Badi Devi Temple : It is located on the north west corner near Kilkila river and it is believed to be very old temple. The religious and historical importance of this temple is immense under the belief that goddess padmavati, who was still alive and protector the prosperity and happiness of Panna. Maharaja Chhatrasal Bundela accept it as his Raj Lakshami although their kuldevi is Vindhyavasani.


BALDEOJI TEMPLE

The temple is in Paladin style as a scaled down replica of St. Paul's Cathedral in London under supervision of Mr. Manly, an Italian expert. The temples structure improves upon the Romanesque and Gothic styles prevalent in Britain in eighteenth century. The temple consists of a large hall called maha mandapa with massive pillars and is built on a raised platform so that one may obtain darshan even from out side the main gate (from the road side).


JUGAL KISHOREJI TEMPLE

This is the main Hindu temple in Panna and was build in Bundela temple style. Nat mandapa, Bhog mandapa, Garbh grih and Pradkshana path are present in the temple. The attire of the Lord is not Brij but Bundelkhandi. As per the common belief, the idol came to Panna from Vrindavan via Orchha. Other than the above temples, Ram-Janki Temple, Swamiji Temple, Sarang Temple, Baiji Temple, Govindji Temple are some of the important temples in Panna. All the above temples are located in the Panna town itself except Sarang Temple, which is about 20 kms from the town.


NACHNA

Nachna village holds a very important place in early Indian architecture. This village has some exemplary buildings of Gupta period. There is not much written about Nachna in historical records, so we do not know who and for what this small village known in ancient times. Recently Nachna's name has been changed to Chaumukhnath, because of Chaturmukha Mahadeva temple of the town. Nachna's distance from Khajurahao is approximately 40 Kms.


PANNA NATIONAL PARK

Panna National Park is situated in the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh at a distance of around 57 kms from Khajuraho. The erstwhile capital of the Bundela Kingdom, the region is famous for its diamonds, temples and is also to some of the best wildlife species in India having one of the best Tiger Reserves of the country. One more attraction in this region is the Rajgarh Palace, a magnificent piece of architecture overlooking the valley. The Pandav falls is also a major attraction with its lake fed by a waterfall.


DIAMOND MINES - PANNA

56 kms from Khajuraho near Majhganwa is Panna Diamond Mines, the world's largest and the only working diamond mines of India. An interesting place to visit, the mines are opened from 9 am to 1 pm. Sunday Closed.


RAJGARH PALACE

Located 25 km from Khajuraho and near the Peetambra-Peeth is the 150 year old Rajgarh Palace. Built by King Shatrujit Bundela, the palace is situated at the foot of Maniyagarh hills gives a glimpse of the Bundela style of architecture. The palace is now a heritage hotel and its museum located within the palace has a fair collection of various geological & cultural artefacts.


RAMVAN

14 km from Satna is Ramvan where a small museum housing a large collection of Tulsidas manuscripts, remains of the Barhut Stupa (2nd century BC) and early medieval and Gupta sculptures is located.
